Darrow School’s art faculty has selected the work of two students for inclusion in the upcoming Columbia-Greene Community College 16th Annual Juried Student Art Show. The students are Bentley ‘12, who will enter a pencil drawing

titled "El Rey," and Elizabeth ‘14, who will enter a black-and-white photograph, titled "Noa." According to Reid Ockerman, Darrow’s Art Department Chair, Bentley and Elizabeth were chosen for inclusion in the show based on the technical merits of their outstanding work.
The 16th Annual Juried Student Art Show is sponsored by the Fine Arts Department at Columbia-Greene Community College in Greenport, New York. Open to area high school students, the exhibition will be held from January 24 to February 24 in the college’s Foundation Gallery in the campus Arts Center. The students chosen to participate in the show will have the opportunity to compete for $600 in prize money, which will be awarded by an independent juror. The judge for this year’s competition is Fawn Potash, visual arts director of

the Greene County Council on the Arts.
Prizes of $150 for first, $100 for second, $80 for third, and $40 each for three honorable mentions, will be awarded to the winning students. In addition, Foundation Gallery Director Yura Adams will select the winner of the $150 Director's Choice award. Prizes will be given at the opening reception, which will be held on January 24, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Foundation Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on weekends by appointment.
