Darrow Campus and Facilities
Location
Darrow is located in the central Berkshires on Mount Lebanon in New Lebanon, New York. Darrow Road, marked by Darrow’s sign, turns off Route 20, seven miles west of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and 26 miles east of Albany, New York. A major airport is conveniently located in Albany. Darrow is 150 miles north of New York City and 150 miles west of Boston.
Campus
Darrow occupies the site and buildings of the original Mount Lebanon Shaker Village, which has been designated a National Historic Landmark. On the expansive 365-acre campus, adjoining the Pittsfield State Forest, are 26 buildings (most are original Shaker structures), several playing fields, tennis courts, extensive hiking and cross-country ski trails, ponds, pastures, orchards, marshlands, and an expansive forest.
