Film at Darrow

Students with an interest in writing, acting, directing, photography, and other creative arts—or who simply love movies—can explore film at Darrow in a number of ways. A film history course examines the history and technique of both American and foreign film and the development of a narrative through the special elements found in film. Students even develop their own storyboards. A filmmaking class gives students the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice, gaining technical skills and experimenting with visual storytelling.

In other departments throughout the curriculum, students participate in shooting and editing short films for class projects. It’s also not uncommon for Darrow’s creative students to initiate special, creative projects of their own invention, including a recent “mockumentary” about a zombie invasion.
