Indoors and Out, Great Venues for Sports
The Dairy Barn—a multi-functional building central to daily life at Darrow—is a locus for sports and recreation. Among other things, it houses the Gymnasium, featuring a climbing wall and a basketball court, and our recently renovated Fitness Center, which includes strength training and aerobic equipment (elliptical trainers, recumbent stationary bikes, regular stationary bikes, treadmills), as well as free weights and weight machines.
Outdoors, athletes enjoy tennis courts and well-maintained fields that command a gorgeous view across the Lebanon Valley, where varsity and junior varsity soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and Ultimate Frisbee games take place. In addition, miles of trails through the scenic campus provide hiking trails and cross-country running and mountain bike courses. Students take advantage of nearby ski resorts, like Jiminy Peak, Massachusetts, for such winter activities as snowboarding and skiing five days per week.
