Advisor Program
Every student, whether international or just minutes from home, has a faculty advisor who guides the student on campus and corresponds with parents to let them know how their son or daughter is doing in all aspects of Darrow life. The advisor is the conduit between school and home.
An advisor is a mentor, counselor, confidante, and a host of other roles, all rolled into one for the student. The advisor is there to celebrate the student’s successes, as well as help each of them learn from their mistakes and failures. It is a treasured relationship that forms easily in such a close-knit community and one which is a warm and rewarding aspect of boarding school life.
There is constant communication among teachers, tutors, and a student’s advisor, so that everyone is kept in the loop as to the student’s progress in class. Advisors also are very aware of a student’s involvement outside the classroom. Students check in daily with their advisors at Morning Meeting and have lunch with them every Friday. With the majority of faculty living on campus, an advisor is never hard to find.
