Leave a Lasting Legacy—
Make an Impact with a Planned Gift
A Darrow education is a legacy gift that passes knowledge and ideals from generation to generation. It is an investment in the future of young people and the world.
Darrow's Legacy Society honors those who have the vision and generosity to include the School in their estate plans. Individuals designating Darrow School as the beneficiary of a bequest, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or other estate provision are welcomed into membership.
Legacy gifts, unless otherwise designated, will build the endowment, contribute to Darrow's financial stability, and enhance the School's ability to plan for the future. These gifts provide future generations of students the opportunity to experience the caring and unique education of Darrow School.
On this beautiful, historic mountainside, Darrow students have learned essential life gifts about excellence, perseverance, kindness, and giving to others in the context of our close-knit community. Darrow students have left the mountainside competent and confident. They have grown because their teachers knew, taught, and mentored them in all aspects of their lives-academic, emotional, social, and spiritual-as they prepared for college and life beyond.
Leave a lasting legacy by making a gift to Darrow in your estate planning and joining the School's Legacy Society. Through planned giving, you and your family can make a significant gift to Darrow while also benefiting your own financial and estate planning.

We asked Drew what it represents to him to include Darrow in his estate plans. He shared why he wants to “leave a legacy. ”
“Like so many others who had the opportunity and good fortune to attend Darrow, my years on the Mountainside had, and continue to have, a great influence on my life. I learned during those formative years what it was to live and be a member of a close-knit community—a community built on respect for the individual, honesty and personal integrity, the power of shared experiences, the importance of discipline, academic rigor and inquisitiveness, and everyday lessons on how to get along with others. All of those traits have served me well throughout my life thus far. Whether it was a stint in the Army in Vietnam, to undergrad/post grad experiences in college, to professional challenges over the years, to raising my children, the experiences and lessons learned at Darrow helped prepare me for life ahead. I firmly believe I’m a better person for what the Darrow experience taught me.
“So why have I included Darrow in my estate plans? Quite simply, it’s a tangible way to say “thank you” for all Darrow provided me. I know there are countless others for whom Darrow provided similar experiences, and my hope is that my estate gift to the School’s endowment will help ensure that future students will have that same experience and preparation for a productive life as offered me. I’ve been extremely fortunate in the years since Darrow.
“Leaving a legacy to me is really nothing more than ‘returning the favor.’ I’m saying that Darrow was very meaningful to me, and that it’s been important enough in my life to leave some legacy of mine in return. One last comment—by giving my legacy gift to the Darrow’s endowment, I’m ensuring that my gift will ‘keep on giving’—that’s the power of endowment.”
