Darrow school hosted Hoosac school for a cross country meet today. They were led by Greer Kramer '17 with a time of 20:12 for the hilly 4.2 kilometer course followed by Cassidy '18 and Jayme '18 in second and third. The Hoosac boys defeated the Darrow boys 24 to 31. First place overall was taken by Darrow’s Kevin '17 in a time of 17:34, more than a minute and a half ahead of the next competitor. Other top finishers for Darrow were Johnny '17 for 5th overall and Seth '19 for 6th.
On Saturday the Darrow cross country team traveled to Poughkeepsie to compete in the Faith Christian academy invitational. The Darrow girls placed first, led by Greer '17 who placed third overall. Other Darrow medalists were Jayme '18 in 5th, Julia '20 in 6th, and Cassidy '18 in 7th. The Darrow boys placed second out of 6 teams led by Kevin '17 who placed first with a time of 19:27. Other Darrow medalists included Johnny '17 in 7th and Dylan '18 in 8th.
Darrow bounced back to win their home opener versus Oakwood, 2-0. Eric '17 scored in each half to account for both goals, while fellow senior, Paul had 5 saves in goal.
Darrow cross country was one of ten schools participating in the Oakwood Invitational today. Darrow girls placed fourth, led by Cassidy '18 and Jayme '18 who placed fourth and fifth respectively, in a field of 30. The Darrow boys placed third, led by Kevin '17 in third place overall, and Johnny '17 who placed 18th in a field of 93.
Darrow dropped their home game 1-4 when they hosted Poughkeepsie Day on Friday. Eric '17 was the lone goal scorer for Darrow with an assist by Thatcher '20 in the waning minutes of the second half to prevent the shut out.
On Wednesday, the Darrow cross country team traveled to Storm King for the Storm King Invitational. The boys team, led by Kevin’s '17 second overall finish, placed second out of 8 teams. On the girls side, Darrow also placed second, losing out to Oakwood by a narrow two point margin. The girls were led by Greer '17, Jayme '18, and Cassidy '17 who finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th, respectively.
Darrow Boys' soccer traveled to West Simsbury CT, where they lost 0-5 against the Master's School. The team played well despite the score, with shots by Henry '18, Marco '18, Luke '19 and Zion '17 in the loss.
Darrow Boys' soccer dropped their Fall Family Weekend game vs. Storm King, 0-6. After playing a strong first half, the Ducks tired under the assault. Eric '17 and Luke '18 combined for three shots, while Paul '17 had seven saves in the game.
Darrow cross country hosted the Darrow invitational with a total of 6 schools participating. The Darrow boys were able to repeat as champions, led by Seth '19 in second overall, and Dylan '18 in third. Five of the victorious ducks were Max '18 in 6th, David '19 in 11th, and Max '20 in 13th. In the girls race, Darrow finished second behind Miss Halls Academy. The Darrow medalists were Cassidy '18 in 5th overall, Jayme '18 in 7th, and Greer '17 in 8th. Completing Darrow’s scoring five were Julia '20 in 13th, and Annabel '18 in 17th.
Luke '18 scored darrow's only goal in the 58th minute, while Paul '17 made seven saves and Marco '18 and Connor '17 combined for some solid midfield work in a 1-5 defeat.
Darrow Boys' Soccer posted a 7-0 shutout. Luke '17 had 3 goals in the game, with Connor '17 adding 2 and Heron '20 scoring 1. Thatcher '20 had 2 assists, and Logan '19 had 1 in the game, with Matt '20 getting his first shut out in his Darrow career with 4 saves.
