Darrow Women's Basketball traveled to Faith Christian and suffered an opening day loss at the hands of the host Falcons. Darrow scorers included Mia '17, KayKay '17, Jayme '18 and Leah '19. Mia '18 pulled down 7 rebounds and Tyler '19 snatched 5. KayKay '17 made 2 steals. Katy '18 made her Darrow debut, taking 3 shots, garnering 2 rebounds and completing 1 steal. Anooshah '18 also saw her first action in maroon and white, getting open for 2 good shots and grabbing 2 rebounds.
Darrow school hosted Faith Christian Academy here in D's house at 2:30PM. Darrow came back 12 points in the second half to send the game to overtime. The final score of the game was FCA 75, Darrow 66 at the end of DOUBLE OVERTIME. Darrow played strong but succumbed to foul-outs. Every member of the Ducks squad saw minutes in this game. Frank '17 led all scorers with 28 points. Other leading scorers were Jason '17 (14 pts.), Desmond '17 (13 pts.), Jared '20 (5 pts.), Max '19 (4 pts.), and Leo '18 (2 pts.). Congratulations to Desmond '17, Jared '20, Max '19 and Leo '18 who scored their first Darrow points.
Darrow hosted the Highlanders of Gunnery in D's House, falling 55-20. Sophomore forward Tyler paced Darrow with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Included in her scoring were 2 3-pointers. Senior co-captain Mia added 5 points, 3 on a 3-ball of her own, and pulled down 2 boards. Junior co-captain point guard Jayme finished a nice layup off a perfect assist by sophomore guard Meredith who had stolen the ball to start the scoring opportunity, for a memorable highlight. Darrow suits up next against the Pterodactyls of Marvelwood on Saturday at D's House.
The Darrow Ducks lost 74-33. Watkinson came out hot with 22 unanswered points finishing the 1st half with 51 points. Darrow came out with strong D in the 2nd half to hold them to only 23 more in the game. All members of the squad got playing time. Jason '17 scored 12 points, Frank '17 tallied 9 points, Jared '20 sunk 6 points, Desmond '17 notched 4 points, and Leo '18 scored from 3 point range.
Darrow hosted Marvelwood today, and lost 44-38. It was a hard fought game that went into halftime knotted at 20 a piece. While we didn't get the W, we certainly played with heart. The scorers were: Leo '18 (13), Desmond '17 (10), Jason '17 (7), Jared (20) 2, Max '19 (2), Kevin '17 (2), Zion '17 (2).
Withering pressure defense, continued offensive improvement and a breakthrough day for sophomore center Leah allowed Darrow Women's Basketball to post its first win of the season, 28-17 in D's House vs. Marvelwood, the second half of a boys-girls doubleheader. Leah scored a career high 10 points and pulled down 11 rebounds while being charged with guarding a taller, more experienced opponent most of the night. Sophomore forward Tyler added 10 points, including two 3-pointers. Tyler also garnered 12 hard-earned rebounds and made 5 steals. Senior guard KayKay was a defensive stalwart, making 5 steals of her own, picking up 2 loose balls, threading 2 crisp assists and nabbing 6 rebounds for DWB. Junior guard Jayme scored 6 points and played indefatigable defense, providing steady, consistent, heady play at both ends of the floor.
Darrow Women's Basketball dropped a tough decision to defending HVAL champion Oakwood Friends 45-23 at D's House. Sophomore forward Tyler led Darrow with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Tyler connected on 2 3-pointers. Senior forward Mia also drained a 3 pointer. Senior guard KayKay scored 6 points and made 3 steals while playing frenetic defense. The highlight reel play of the game was a steal by sophomore guard Meredith followed by a perfect pass to KayKay for one of her baskets.
Darrow Men traveled to Oakwood Friends tonight. While we didn't get the W, it was a hard fought game with some great play from all members of the squad. Frank '17 scored 21 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, Leo '18 sunk 11 points, Jared '20 notched 6 points,Jason '17 added 4 points, Desmond '17 had 2 points and 6 assists, and Paul '17 grabbed first Darrow rebound.
A frustrating shooting night blunted a strong second half effort as Darrow Women's Basketball fell to Poughkeepsie Day 34-26. Sophomore forward Tyler was a dominant force in the game, scoring a team-high 14 points, including a 3-pointer, and snatching 9 rebounds. Senior guard KayKay played a strong game at both ends of the floor, posting 4 points, completing 4 steals and grabbing 9 rebounds. Sophomore center Leah added 4 points. Junior guard Jayme stepped up in the second half to limit PDS leading player on offense, opening the opportunity for a comeback. Senior forward Mia led the Ducks with 11 rebounds. Sophomore forward Anooshah provided a late-game highlight, earning 2 free throws with a great take at the basket and sinking one of them for her first points in maroon and white.
Darrow hosted PDS in D's house today. The Ducks jumped out to an early lead, then held it until the final 2.5 min. Unfortunately, a player fouling out and some missed free throws down the stretch derailed our efforts. Despite this, Darrow players played their hearts out, exhibiting impressive drive and determination throughout the game.

Darrow Women's Basketball traveled to Troy where they were unable to solve the Emma Willard Jesters' pressure defense, coming out on the losing end of a 34-22 score. Sophomore forward Tyler scored 11 and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Ducks. Senior guard KayKay added 6 points, created 4 steals and had a nice assist. Junior guard Jayme finished the game with an impressive steal-drive-layup-miss-rebound-basket combination.
NYMA hosted and surprised us with some great shooting and Darrow fell 47-37 after trailing by only 3 at halftime.
