Girls Basketball vs. Storm King (home)

Darrow Women's Basketball celebrated Senior Day by defeating Storm King 45 - 33 to finish off a regular season run of 13 wins in the last 14 games of the season. Senior contributions predominated, as befits the occasion -- senior forward and captain Tyler scored a season- and career-high 27 points, with 3 3-pointers and a 6 of 9 day at the charity stripe. Tyler also pulled down 11 rebounds, added 2 assists and completed 3 steals. Senior guard and captain Crystal played nearly the full 32 minutes at point, only coming out of the game for "senior honors" with under a minute to go. Crystal thrilled the crowd, which included 4-year Darrow basketballer alums and siblings Beatrice ('12), Stan ('14) and Joy ('15), with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals on a busy busy afternoon. Senior center Leah scored 5 big second-half points to help hold off a Storm King surge that had whittled the lead down to 6 points. Leah also grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Senior Naomi provided strong defense from the forward position and had 5 rebounds. Junior guard Corinne notched 5 points, including a 3 pointer, added 2 assists and 5 deflections for the Darrow women. DWB (13-4, 9-3) awaits the result of the New York Daily Number for Saturday February 16 to determine whether we are the #2 or #3 seed in the HVAL tournament. For the record, Darrow is rooting for odd. Either way, Darrow will host a quarter final game in D's House on Tuesday, February 19 at 3:30 pm. Opponent to be determined.
