In their final contest of the year in D's House, Darrow Women's Basketball fell to Faith Christian Academy in an HVAL semi-final game 58-45. Excellent shooting by the visitors in the first half put Darrow at a disadvantage from which they were unable to recover, despite two bursts of excellent play, late in the first half and then coming out of the locker room in the second half. Senior captain Crystal had a very strong performance: she scored 18 points, including 4 3-pointers, nabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, completed 8 steals and blocked 3 shots. Senior captain Tyler scored a game-high 23 points, including 5 3-pointers, while pulling down 7 rebounds. Senior forward Naomi scored and provided some strong defense. Senior captain Leah patrolled the paint for most of the game, fought for 7 rebounds and had 2 nice assists. First year forward Akosua provided strong play off the bench with 2 rebounds and a sharp assist on a highlight reel type play to Crystal. While the loss was damaging, Darrow (14-5) retains slim hopes of a New England Tournament berth.
Rescheduled from Wednesday, February 20 due to inclement weather.
