Tennis travelled down to Oakwood Friends today, losing 3 to 6. The highlight of the match was Zoe's '18 first ever singles match win!
The Darrow lacrosse team began its final week of regular-season play auspiciously, earning a 7-4 win over visiting Kildonan in the two schools’ first ever lacrosse match-up. This game was an invaluable opportunity for Darrow's less experienced players to log a lot of playing time, allowing them to build their confidence, skills, and tactical knowledge in a game environment. A major highlight of the match was the offensive success of three players new to lacrosse and/or Darrow: freshman attackman Charlie (one goal), sophomore midfielder Heron (his first three Darrow career goals), and junior midfielder Logan (two goals). Senior captain and attackman Luke added one goal, as well as contributing some skilled playmaking to set up his teammates with shooting opportunities. Senior goalkeeper Felix ably anchored the defense, stopping multiple Kildonan shots and displaying good field sense with his clearing. All in all, this game was a strong performance and a valuable learning opportunity that strengthened the Darrow roster by getting the team’s back-up players more comfortable and confident on the field. Darrow now prepares for its final regular-season game at home against Storm King, hoping to improve on a very competitive 7-11 loss earlier in the season and close out its regular season with one more win.
Postponed due to weather from April 25 to May 7.
