Darrow Names New Director of Admissions

Nicholas Forcier will lead School's enrollment efforts

On April 27, Head of School Simon Holzapfel announced that Nicholas Forcier has been named Darrow's new Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.

Currently the Director of College Counseling at Darrow, Forcier will take over the new role from Betsy Strickler, who is departing the Mountainside after four years of dedicated service to become the Director of External Relations at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA. Forcier has a master of arts degree in liberal studies, with a focus on international studies, from Stony Brook University, and a bachelor of science degree in political science from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta.

In announcing the appointment to the community at a recent Morning Meeting, Holzapfel said, "We interviewed a field of very strong candidates for the position, and in the process one candidate really shined above the others. His intellect, experience, and passion really qualified him to lead our Admissions efforts."

Prior to joining Darrow in 2016, Forcier was the Associate Dean of Admissions for Bennington College in Vermont, and the Assistant Director of Admissions and then Senior Assistant Director for International Admissions at SUNY Binghamton.

"My time at Darrow as Director of College Counseling at Darrow has been a transformative experience," Forcier said following the announcement. "I’m so excited to be taking on this new role to help Darrow advance its broader institutional goals. Darrow provides students with a world-class education, and is a thought leader among secondary schools. I’m eager to take that message out into the world."

Forcier lives on the Darrow campus with his partner, Catherine Stines, who teaches history at Darrow.
