Our Admissions Office is likely your first point of contact with The Darrow School, and we can’t wait to get to know you. In the meantime, here’s a little about us:
Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management
Kristen Kaschub attended Northfield Mount Hermon School, a boarding school in Western Massachusetts. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, she returned to the life of boarding school after a career in New York City. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied both psychology and English. Her graduate work was in Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Kristen brings an extensive marketing background, as well as both domestic and international recruitment experience, with over 20 years in the field at three different boarding schools.
Associate Director of Admission
Originally from "just outside of Boston," I attended college in the idyllic town of Middlebury, VT. I also attended college in Waltham, MA, and Athens, Greece. I spent my freshman year at a private boarding school in Groton, MA, graduated from my local public school, and even did an exchange program in Bologna, Italy. Suffice to say; I think finding the right school is like putting together a puzzle, and I LOVE puzzles. I live in Castleton with my husband, Ryan (we just got married this year!) and our dog Brady.
When I first started teaching it was at a school where everyone went skiing once a week in the winter. I did not know how to ski, not even a little bit. So I learned how, right along with the students. That experience ended up being transformative in a couple of ways. First, I still love skiing and have grown to love teaching skiing as well. Even more so, it showed me that modeling learning is an important aspect to keep in my teaching. That using skills someone already has can help them learn something new. Also, that having a healthy sense of humor goes a long way.
Lorrie is a longtime member of the Admission team and, as Registrar of the School, she works closely with the College Guidance Office. As the first person many families meet when they come to Admissions, she is a key organizer and keeper of information. A native of Berkshire County, Lorrie earned her bachelor of science degree from Westfield State College. She enjoys days in the office assisting colleagues and families alike.
