Health and Wellness Curriculum
The Darrow School Health and Wellness Curriculum (HAWC) involves all members of our community, and fosters development of the student as a whole. HAWC covers topics such as mental health and self-care, sexual health and relationships, drug and alcohol use, and social media impact.
HAWC lessons and seminars are scaffolded and frequently differentiated by grade, identifying the most important and necessary growth points for teenagers at different ages. Topics that have an impact on the whole community are addressed in all school programs, involving faculty advisors as well.
HAWC also trains peer educators to facilitate health and wellness issues among their peers, answer questions, and direct students to appropriate resources when they might benefit from additional support.
