Darrow School’s application process is straightforward.
We offer two online application choices, the Standard Application Online (SAO) and our own application. See links below.
Submitting the demographic section of our application is your first step. Once completed, you'll receive an email guiding you to create an application portal. This portal will help you smoothly navigate through the rest of the process, including the Student Essay, Parent Statement, and Math and English recommendations. You'll also find a section to upload supporting documents, such as your most recent transcript(s), SAT/ACT/SSAT testing, or educational testing.
After paying the $75 fee, your application will be submitted. At this point, an admission staff member, a dedicated guide in your application journey, will be in touch to ask questions, answer yours, and schedule an on-campus visit and/or Zoom meeting. A student interview is required for all applicants and is typically done during your visit. Following a students campus tour and interview, completed applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee and decisions are made shortly thereafter. An email with our decision will be sent, followed by a phone call or email from your Admissions Counselor.
At Darrow School, we value early applications. Applying before February 1 gives you the advantage of priority decision. Admissions decisions will be shared on or before March 10. After that, we'll continue with rolling admissions based on space availability. We're excited to get to know you and your family better. - APPLICATION: Darrow accepts Online Applications and the Standard Application Online (SAO).
- We operate on a rolling admission. Our team reviews applications as they are submitted and offers priority decisions for applications completed before February 1.
- Standardized testing is optional. Our school code for the SSAT school code is 2740

- We require two current teacher recommendations about your strengths and passions.
- We'll need your current school transcript.
- A Student Essay telling us a bit more about yourself!
- A statement from your parent(s) or guardian(s).
- Application fee of $75.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email. After processing your application, the Office of Admissions will provide you with login credentials for the Darrow applicant portal. You can use these credentials to monitor the progress of your application and eventually receive your admission decision.
