What Makes a Great Artist?
Visual Arts at Darrow begin with learning to see. Studio Art establishes that foundation. Students move into drawing, ceramics, photography, woodworking, digital work, installation, and painting as skills develop. Studios are working spaces. Materials are out. Projects are in progress. The building holds evidence of effort. Critique is direct. Revision is expected. Students leave with bodies of work, not assignments.
THINK, CREATE. MAKE.
There are plenty of incredible opportunities for independent study or advanced courses that will allow you to develop a portfolio to showcase your talents. Our classroom structure is flexible to accommodate student needs and optimize the learning experience. We encourage artists to utilize the Joline studios outside of class during their free blocks and during evening and weekend studio open hours.
