Boarding school life offers a unique advantage when it comes to college preparation. In addition to a rigorous curriculum and plenty of co-curricular options, you'll learn accountability and responsibility. The skills that inspire leading healthy and well-balanced lives. Let Darrow show you how to make the boarding school experience one of a kind.

We’re Here to Help along the Way

advisors

Every Darrow student has a faculty advisor who supports the student in navigating academic and personal challenges and understands the student’s total experience. The advisor also corresponds with parents to update them about how their child is doing. Faculty advisors provide a critical connection between parents and the school community. A Darrow advisor is a mentor, counselor, and advocate all rolled into one.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, and INCLUSION

At Darrow, you will form connections with peers of different ages, grade levels, genders, races, learning styles, first languages, home states and countries, and any number of other identities and backgrounds. You’ll meet video gamers, cosplayers, punsters, athletes, poets, artists, bike mechanics, farmers, future exobiologists, role models, and best friends.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are woven into our core curriculum, student orientation, Tuesday Community Programs, informal conversations with teachers and advisors, workshops, school performances, weekend activities, and holiday celebrations.

Affinity groups like Black Student Alliance, Speqtrum, Jewish Student Union, and Women’s Empowerment Group offer spaces for students with shared identities to come together, discuss relevant issues and life experiences in a supportive environment, and take collective action. Student diversity prefects keep their fingers on the pulse of DEI issues that arise in the community and offer full-day programming for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January and Culture Day in the spring.

In case you were wondering...

  • We dress up for all three sports banquets, celebrating the close of each sports season!

  • You will meet your life-long best friends here.

  • Every student is required to participate in Tuesday Community Programming (TCP)

  • Different dorms have different personalities. Students are fiercely loyal to where they live and show their pride in competing in dorm wars.

  • Sometimes, the Head of School decides to give everyone the day off by calling a "Head’s Day."

  • There's always something happening on the weekend, both on and off campus. These include Joline First Fridays, movie nights, cooking and baking, game nights, paintball, shopping, laser tag, jewelry making, and museums.

  • Every Darrow student has a team of adults (advisors, dorm parents, instructors, coaches, etc.) watching out for them.
