Hockey Life at Darrow
Where Competition Meets Community
Hockey at Darrow is more than a sport. It’s a way of life.
Student-athletes in the residential hockey program live, learn, grow, and compete within the full fabric of Darrow School. Every day, they wake up as Darrow students—classroom learners, house mates, teammates, and community members.
Atlantic Coast Academy provides hockey development and competition.
Darrow provides the academic, residential, and social experience that shapes the whole student.
Here, hockey isn’t separate from school life—it is school life.
The Academic Experience
Students who compete in athletics are Darrow students first.
They follow the same graduation requirements, classroom expectations, and advising structure as every other student. There is no separate academic path. Small classes, close faculty relationships, and sustained college counseling define the experience for all.
Belonging
Participation in athletics at Darrow is part of being in community, not separate from it.
Students on teams contribute to and benefit from a culture grounded in growth, community, compassion, authenticity, and diversity. These values shape how we work together, how we learn together, and how we support each other every day.
Beyond the Ice
At Darrow, students are expected to explore interest and purpose wherever it leads—arts, service, clubs, leadership, internships, and beyond.
Through our structured internship and applied learning partnership with ProTech Education, students connect schoolwork with real work. They gain experience, test ideas, and build confidence. This is part of the Darrow experience for all students.
