Post Graduate Athletic Basketball Program

Not getting the love in the college recruiting process?

In response to the growing demand for post-grad programs created by today's challenging collegiate athlete environment, Darrow has introduced a post-graduate basketball program. Our Post Graduate Athletic Program is the perfect stepping stone for graduating student-athletes who would benefit from one more year of high school basketball. Some students may require more time to refine their skills and mature on the court, while others need additional time to strengthen their academic credentials. Our program is tailored to enhance students' abilities, both on and off the court, and to equip them with the skills necessary to tackle the challenges and opportunities that come their way.

An additional year as a post-graduate student in a prep School can help you develop physically and mentally both on and off the court to increase your recruitment potential.

The post-graduate year program at Darrow School is an exceptional opportunity for student-athletes to elevate their skills and personal growth over the course of nine months. It serves as an ideal pathway for those seeking an additional year of high school to hone their abilities. Whether you aim to enhance your on-court prowess, academic merit, or both, our program is tailor-made to equip you with the aptitudes required to tackle any future endeavors with confidence and success.

Benefits of Boarding—Would You Benefit?

  • It prepares you for the rigors of college life, learning how to balance academic, athletic, and personal responsibilities and becoming self-reliant while living away from the normalcy of home.
  • Spending an additional year at a preparatory school can also offer significant social and emotional advantages—experiencing living away from home and taking responsibility for oneself can assist in developing essential life skills.
  • Completing homework during extended bus rides to and from games can effectively prepare for the travel demands of college-level athletics—instilling the necessary endurance and discipline to navigate the rigorous travel schedules of competing at the collegiate level.
  • A second chance with the college admissions process.
  • An additional year at a prep school does not count against a player's NCAA eligibility as playing at a junior college does. Once you play in a junior college game, you have lost a year of playing in the NCAA.
  • Going to an East Coast Prep School allows many more potential schools to see you. There are 35 colleges in the Boston area alone.
