Biography

William “Bill” Horowitz ’71 is a visionary and results-driven executive with more than three decades of leadership experience spanning for-profit and nonprofit sectors. As President of WRH Ventures, Inc., Bill has guided over 75 companies through strategic transformation, operational restructuring, and leadership development. Known for his collaborative and compassionate leadership style, he excels in fostering responsible, high-performing work environments and building strong relationships from the workshop floor to the boardroom.

Throughout his career, Bill has driven measurable improvements in financial performance, team alignment, and market positioning. At CONNSTEP, a Connecticut-based nonprofit consulting firm, he revitalized underperforming business development initiatives and earned outstanding marks in client impact evaluations. During his tenure at Amerbelle Textiles, he led the company to profitability within a year and secured lasting partnerships with leading clients including TUMI, the U.S. Army, Patagonia, 3M, and Samsonite. His work at WRH Ventures includes helping a $10M energy field services company achieve positive cash flow and increase net income despite a declining market.

Bill’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, P&L management, manufacturing operations, stakeholder relations, and executive coaching. He has a particular passion for supporting family-owned businesses and mission-driven organizations through transitions and growth.

A proud alumnus of Darrow School (Class of 1971), Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The George Washington University, where he served as Vice President of the Thursday Afternoon Club. He also completed a one-year custom program in Business Administration and Textile Design & Technology at Philadelphia University.

Bill currently serves as Treasurer of the Darrow School Board of Trustees for the 2024 and 2025 school years. He lives in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.
