Joe McGovern is the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires, bringing more than three decades of nonprofit leadership experience to the role. A Pittsfield native and longtime youth advocate, McGovern’s career began at the Pittsfield Boys’ Club, where he once served as a youth supervisor—and was named Youth of the Year. Over the years, McGovern has held senior leadership positions across multiple youth-serving and community organizations, including Executive Director roles at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County (MD), the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield (MA), the Northern Berkshire United Way, and CEO of the Northern Berkshire YMCA. His work has impacted thousands of young people and families, and he is widely respected for his strategic leadership and deep commitment to community development. McGovern holds a B.A. from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and is a graduate of Taconic High School. A former employee of the Pittsfield Boys’ Club, he now leads the organization where his professional journey began. His leadership is driven by a personal understanding of the transformative role youth programs can play in shaping lives. |
