As a child, I struggled to keep up with my classmates at school. My father was a college professor, and I was his eldest son struggling to perform well academically. It wasn't until I realized that I learned differently from most of them that everything changed. It wasn't that I was better or worse, just different. I needed a school that would recognize and appreciate this difference.

Darrow is a school for students like me! Creative, empathic, curious, talented young adults who want to live and learn in an intentional family-style community where they are encouraged to be their authentic selves, challenged to excel at what they love and supported in their journey through adolescence in ways that matter to them. The core values of Growth, Diversity, Community, Compassion, and Authenticity are at the heart of everything we do here.

With specialized programs in the Performing Arts, Design and Innovation, Community Service, eSports, basketball, and soccer, there's something for everyone at Darrow.

Darrow's campus is a National Historic Landmark home to the Mount Lebanon Shakers from 1787 to 1947. Although Darrow is not officially affiliated with the United Society of Shakers, the peaceful and communal spirit of the Shakers is still palpable on the campus.

I invite you to visit our Mountainside campus, experience it for yourself, and discover how Darrow can help you thrive as a student and a person.
