Brittney Barnes is proud to serve as Darrow’s School Counselor. The first in her family to graduate from college, she earned her bachelor’s degree from MCLA before following her passion for understanding people through a blend of psychology and the performing arts. Eventually, her drive to make a difference led her to complete a master’s degree in School Counseling from the College of Saint Rose.

At Darrow, Brittney helps students navigate life’s challenges with empathy and purpose—encouraging them to understand who they are, what they’re going through, and how to move forward with confidence. She believes deeply in providing a space where every student feels heard and supported in this “home away from home” on the mountainside.

Outside her counseling work, Brittney is a wife, mother, and published author. A classically trained vocalist, she’s also a devoted karaoke enthusiast who rarely turns down a microphone.
