B.A. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Brandon West serves as the Associate Head Coach for Darrow’s AAA basketball program and teaches ninth grade Historical Methods. With a background rooted in high-level coaching, collegiate playing experience, and direct classroom instruction, he is committed to the full development of the students and athletes he works with in the gym, in the classroom, and in life. A native of Roxbury, Massachusetts, West played high school basketball at a championship level and went on to compete at the collegiate level at American International College, where he earned his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. He is currently working toward his Master’s in Education. His teaching experience spans both lower elementary and secondary education, including time as a first grade teacher and now as a high school history instructor. He focuses on inquiry-based learning, student voice, and helping students connect the past to the present. On the coaching side, West brings over a decade of experience developing players at the prep, grassroots, and professional levels. He has led programs at top academic independent schools including Beaver Country Day, Phillips Andover, and Belmont Hill. His résumé also includes NBA player development work with current and former professional athletes. He currently serves in a leadership role with BABC, one of the most respected grassroots basketball programs in the country. At Darrow, West leads recruiting, player development, and off-court support for the AAA team. He is known for his presence, honesty, and high standards. He creates environments where students and athletes are challenged, supported, and prepared for whatever comes next. |
