Shantel Schonour has worked in education since 2005. Originally from North Dakota, she earned her BA in English Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and her MS in Reading from Walden University. After several years teaching in Colorado, she moved to Boston in 2008 and completed an Ed.S. in Reading at UMass Lowell. Shantel has served as an English teacher for grades 6–12, a literacy specialist for grades 9–10, a literacy coach, and a graduate professor. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading, skiing, hiking, surfing, running, and traveling—most recently visiting her 32nd country after a trip to East Asia. |
