Eric Olson, Ph.D. serves as a Chemistry and Physics Teacher and House Parent at Darrow School. He brings a rich, diverse background in scientific inquiry and secondary education, having previously taught science at Phillips Exeter Academy, led IB Chemistry and science programs for six years in Singapore, and spent ten years as a Senior Scientist at GE Global Research. 

In the classroom, Eric emphasizes student-driven discussion and hands-on discovery, creating a dynamic environment where young scientists feel empowered to explore questions, test evidence, and embrace the creative process of learning. Eric holds a permanent New York State teaching certification (Chemistry 7-12).

A passionate advocate for residential life and whole-student mentorship, Eric lives in Hinckley dorm and has extensive experience coaching sports ranging from crew and cross-country to soccer and baseball. In his personal time, he enjoys hiking, endurance athletics, and exploring the outdoors.
