Ph.D., Yale University Travis “Tucker” Tucker is the Director of College Counseling & Inner Life Counselor at Darrow. His interest in college advising began with his own children’s college searches. Drawing from that experience, his goals are to help each student find their “best fit” school, to educate and empower students and parents along the way, and to make the process as smooth as possible. His career has centered around helping young people of all ages reach their fullest potential—academically, athletically, and even spiritually. "Dr. T" is a licensed chaplain, a former university Philosophy professor, and the founder of two businesses dedicated to leadership and ethics education for high school students. He has over thirty-five years of experience in training and coaching athletes, including his own son, a former basketball player for nearby Bard College. He has coached tennis at all levels, including as an Assistant Coach for the Yale University Women’s Tennis team. He most recently coached the Deerfield Academy Boys Thirds Squash team to its first-ever undefeated season. As our Inner Life Counselor, Tucker seeks to support all Darrow students, faculty, and staff along their spiritual journeys. When not at work, you will most likely find him exercising or sitting outside reading a Victorian novel. |
